CDI Presents: Dr. Joy DeGruy – Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome March 23rd @6:30pm

Dr. Joy DeGruy has resheduled the Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome presentation to Wednesday, March 23rd at the Kool Family Community Center, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Joy DeGruy is a nationally and internationally renowned researcher, educator, author, and presenter. She will be speaking on the theory of post traumatic slave syndrome. The theory suggests that centuries of slavery followed by systemic racism and oppression have resulted in multi-generational adaptive behaviors – some of which have been positive and reflective of resilience, and others that are detrimental and destructive.
