FCC Partners with Sexual Assault Services for Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Prevention

Betty Christ—long time FCCBC member who passed in 2018—was a fierce community advocate. Betty was one of the organizers and chairpersons on the Advisory Board for the Community Sexual Assault Task Force and Sexual Assault Services. As her faith community, we honor her legacy and continue the work of advocacy for our community through partnership with Sexual Assault Services (SAS).

This month, are partnering with SAS for Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. At the Welcome Center, you will find a pinwheel display along with ribbon pins and information about the services offered by Sexual Assault Services, including their 24/7 help line, victim advocacy and much more.

Here are some ways you can support SAS and their work:

  1. Wear the ribbon pins and be ready to share with others about the important work that SAS does in our community.

  2. Learn more about the root causes of child abuse, neglect, and sexual assault. Advocate for evidence based and trauma informed approaches to addressing child poverty and sexual assault wherever you have influence and/or power.

  3. Donate to Sexual Assault Services in honor of Betty Christ by clicking here.
