First Congregational Church Launches Discovery Study: July 2022

First Congregational Church of Battle Creek is excited to announce its partnership with Partners for Sacred Places and the beginning of a community-wide Discovery Study starting in July 2022. FCCBC is working with national non-profit Partners for Sacred Places to imagine and discern new and creative uses for our historic facility. The Discovery Study uses individual interviews and independent research to analyze the role FCCBC plays in the lives of its faith community members and its impact on the lives of its neighbors. The study will provide insight into how community members feel about the church and its work in the broader community of Battle Creek. The Discovery Study report will serve as a roadmap for moving forward with potential community partnerships and collaborative stewardship of its historic building.

In the coming weeks, FCCBC staff will be reaching out to our community partners, local entrepreneurs and business owners, and philanthropic organizations to begin setting up Zoom interviews with Partners for Sacred Places staff. FCCBC looks forward to the opportunity to learn more from the Battle Creek community and the potential for deepening strategic partnerships as it work toward long-term sustainability.
